UKHO Permanent/Preliminary/Temporary notices

1. ENGLAND - East Coast - Drying heights. Depth. NM Block. -
Two new drying areas at the entrance channel to Boston. There is a new UKHO Block showing the new areas. Pretty important to see the UKHO block if you use that channel towards LW. Buoyage at the moment is 'quite approximate'.
2. NETHERLANDS - Buoyage. - One move of the port hand spar buoy to the west off the entrance to Breskens.

1. Harwich Haven Channel Deepening Project - Plough Tug Operations -
From around the 01 February, for a period of about 30 days, the plough tug Noordstroom (IMO: 9771705) will carry out plough dredging operations in the main channel. The tug (details below) will be fitted with an 8m wide, heavy plough to conduct plough trials. The dredging contractor is the Van Oord / Boskalis Westminster Joint Venture appointed by Harwich Haven Authority to carry out the Harwich Haven Channel Deepening Project. The dredge area is a section of the main channel known as area D covering the whole width of the main channel and running from No 1 & 2 buoys to number 7 & 8 buoys. An area in dredge area F will also be dredged. (See sketches HHA/D and HHA/F) See in the Local List at: Notices to Mariners The tug will carry out ploughing operations with the plough beam on the sea-bed immediately behind the tug, running East-West and also North-South. The tug will be supported by the survey launch, Patriot. The dredging is covered by the MMO licence held by Harwich Haven Authority: L/2020/00360/2.
2. PORT OF GREAT YARMOUTH - Third River Crossing Construction Update - works will be undertaken on both bridge cofferdams, commencing 31st January. A ‘raft’ will be attached at various points on each cofferdam in order to fit anodes protecting the structures. Personnel will be working on the raft and close to water at times around periods of Low Water. Vessels should be aware and pass at a safe speed to avoid risk to persons and property. 3. PORT OF GREAT YARMOUTH - Bathymetric Survey Works - River Port - bathymetric survey activity will be undertaken within Great Yarmouth River Port on Tuesday 01st and Wednesday 02nd February 2022 from Survey Vessel INVESTIGATOR (Figure 1). The two areas to be surveyed are the river entrance and Brush Bend; and between berths 12 and 15 (Third River Crossing). Due caution should be exercised when in transit past this location including observance to maintaining safe distance. SV INVESTIGATOR can be contacted on VHF Ch12.
4. The Wash Ports – River Nene - Admiralty Chart 1200, Imray Y9 - Buoy Moves - buoy moves within the Nene Ports area of jurisdiction. Below are the new positions.
