UKHO Permanent/Temporary/Preliminary Notices:
1. FRANCE - North Coast - Depths. - Three revised depths on the Haut-Fond de Gravelines Bank (off Gravelines). An earlier NtM (1609 of 2025) is now revised by this notice. The bank is marked by the west cardinal buoy.

1. River Thames - Barn Elms Reach to Sea Reach - Sediment Sampling And Trawling - between the 27th October and 7th November, contractors instructed by the Environment Agency will be undertaking Sediment Sampling and Trawling operations in various locations through Port Limits. Works are expected to take no longer than 10 days and will be undertaken in daylight hours only. Trawling Operations will be completed between the 27th and the 30th October, in Woolwich Reach, Gravesend Reach, and the Southend Anchorages, at a speed of no greater than 3 knots. Works are estimated to take no longer that 60 minutes in each location. Sediment Sampling and Grabbing Operations will be completed between the 5th and the 7th November in 15 locations across multiple districts. Each sample will take no longer than 30 minutes in each location. All locations are outside the authorised navigational channel. Vessels involved in operations include the “HUMBER GUARDIAN” and “SAORSA NA MARA”. Due to the nature of works, vessels are to navigate with extreme caution ensuring vessel wash is kept to a minimum, with positive monitoring of any VTS instruction. Requirements to proceed with caution or at slow speed will be made in accordance with the procedure set out in the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide, under ‘Speed Reductions’, with the International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee’ displayed,
2. River Thames - Gravesend Reach - Foreshore Sampling Works - works on the foreshore near Coalhouse Point commencing on or around 10th November 2025, for a period of five weeks. The approximate area of the works is shown in red on the chartlet. See in the Local List at: Notices to Mariners. Works will involve the construction of an access ramp and GI sampling works at various points along the foreshore. A rubber tracked crawler will carry out the GI works with the assistance of an excavator. At times workers will be walking along the foreshore. Works will only take place over the low water during daylight hours and all plant will be removed from the foreshore over high water and overnight. Passing vessels are requested to be mindful of the nature of the works and to minimise wash over the low water period.
3. Harwich Haven - Survey Operations – GNH Crusader- survey boat GNH Crusader (Callsign: 2EQW) will be carrying out monthly survey operations in Harwich Harbour and the River Stour (see locations in diagram in the Local List above), starting on or around 22 October 2025, until the end of September 2026.
4. PORT OF GREAT YARMOUTH - O & M Fender Installation Works Berth 1 - as part of the construction works on berth 1, personnel will be working over the quay wall from personal baskets completing fenders works at water level. Work is expected to last through until the end of 2025Location of work highlighted in red (see in the Local List as above). Masters are advised to exercise extreme caution when approaching or passing the site, to keep well clear of the works area and to pass at the slowest safe manoeuvring speed. River Crouch and environs - INFORMATION - Water Sampling Operations - the vessel/tug ‘JEAN T’ will be carrying out water sampling activities on the Rivers Crouch and Roach including an area of the outer Crouch East of the Dengie Marshes. Dependant on weather conditions, the sampling will take place between Tuesday 28th October 2025 and Friday 31st October 2025. The vessel will display the appropriate signals and lights and maintain a listening watch on VHF channels 11 and 16. Whilst these is no requirement for an ‘Ease Down’ from other craft, vessels in the vicinity of the ‘JEAN T’ should pass at a safe distance and not impede her in her operations.
