A bit this week!
Permanent
1. UKHO confirmation of the removal of the PHB and wreck in Mersea Quarters - but you all know of that;
2. Notice regarding the positions of the two safe water marks on the Ray Sand that were put there 54+ weeks ago. These are already marked on the CTTE chart of course. However, they have also moved the Yellow Spherical buoy so that all three are lined up on the 000.59.500E meridian. I have amended the chart tonight and it can be downloaded in Jpg format from the NtM service or in PDF form on the CTTE Downloads page. It will be tomorrow before the download on the ECS chartlet page is upgraded. Some images of the two safe water marks are added for those of you who like pictures
3. Small depth reduction in the Holm channel south of Great Yarmouth - at 12.5m it won't trouble us.
Temporary
1. Trinity House have started AIS test transmissions from three light vessels in the channel and also the East Goodwin.
2. The Benfleet, Fobbing and Easthaven barriers are closed for work.
3. Some temporary buoy moves in Harwich harbour to allow for dredging
4. The London Array people are to start rock dumping on the cable crossings over the Kentish Flats and BritNed cables - stone transhipment taking place in Margate Road. I suggest we all start calling the Kentish Flats crossing place 'Rockery' - we'll probably be able to see it soon!
5. Dredging taking place in Harwich Harbour
6. One other item not yet posted is that the PLGR (pre Laying Grapnel Run) and other work will commence on 26th October for the Gunfleet Sands Demo site - see this months magazine if you haven't already. I am just waiting for a clear copy of the notice (to save me typing reams) and then I'll post it up.
7. Nothing from the London Array regarding its work on the site yet this week but the Stemat Spirit has finished laying the fourth and final main cable and is now alongside in Sheerness.
