Quiet week again this week:

Permanent

1. A correction to the position of the Ray Sand Middle SWB. This correction applies to UKHO chart 1975 which as a result of wrong information had the buoy on the 000.59.000E meridian instead of on the 000.59.500E meridian where everybody knows it is. If you use Imray charts you can ignore this as Imray have it properly plotted. If you use a... I think its called a 'plotter' and you buy the updates religiously you might find it in the wrong place and need to buy another update to put it in the right place:encouragement:...... or on the other hand you could just use mk 1 eyeball!:encouragement::encouragement:
2. Three fouls in the two anchorages for ships south of the Maas South Inner TSS. All at a depth that is unlikely to have us anchoring so not likely to trouble us;
3. Small reduction in depth on the edge of the Thames main channel at Erith Rands.

Temporary

1. River Thames - *GRAVESEND REACH - IMPERIAL JETTY - REPAIR WORKS from 28th September. People working at the waterline;
2. Brightlingsea - No 16 North Geedon Temporary Buoy - a small replacement in place of the usual buoy while repairs are made;
3. River Colne - TEMPORARY RIVER BED STRUCTURES - outside the entrance to Aylesford Creek outside the main channel (I know this was mentioned by Dick a few days back, this is Brightlingsea catching up with their web site so I thought I best include it;
4. Dredging continuing at the Port of Wells - some Bollywood filming coming up soon there too.

Advance Notice.

The quayside car park will be closed on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th October for the filming of a scene for a forthcoming Bollywood feature film called Housefull 3 by Clysdale Films Ltd.

Jacqueline Fernandez is to star with Bollywood heroes like Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Abhishek Bachchan for the third instalment of the hit comedy Housefull.

The film company will create an outdoor cafe seating area which will be set up on the 5th for filming on the 6th. The meeting room in the Harbour Office will be the Green Room for artists to relax during the day. 5 vehicles will bring equipment which will then be moved to the Football Club car park. Parking to the Harbour Office will also be closed.

Not on my Navionics charts it doesn't, its in exactly the right spot

It appears to be in the correct position on the web app too (which lacks lat - long grids or coordinates)

On the Android app it's actually coming up at 51d40.0N 0d59.499E so there's a slight error there but it's not enough to even be noticeable to the eye when viewing the chart (it's not much over a yard anyway)

By the way, the position of the Raysand Middle is correct on the raster version of BA3750 (River Crouch) but not on BA1975 in the 2015 edition Memory Map chart package

I think that when UKHO were erroneously told (back in 2012 I believe) that the Ray Middle was on 000.59.000E they only amended Chart 1975 since new editions of 3750 etc are much fewer and far'er between. Hence their notice this week refers only to Chart 1975. It is ironic that if Navionics have it right it is because they hadn't amended it! Chart 1975 is taken as the source chart so anyone who had picked it up in the wrong position would have put it in the wrong position and would have thought they were doing the right thing.
