1. BLACK DEEP CHANNEL - SURVEY OPERATIONS - on or about 20th July 2023, vessel SCOTIA will commence surveying operations in the Black Deep Channel. The approximate area of operations is indicated by the red-bounded zone on the chartlet. See at: Notices to Mariners SCOTIA will be surveying a 40m-wide corridor within the survey area and may be towing survey gear astern. These surveying operations are expected to be carried out on a 24hr basis and are expected to be complete by 05th August 2023. SCOTIA has been requested to keep clear of all vessels navigating along the channel and to maintain a listening watch on VHF ch. 69 at all times. Further details will be broadcast as needed by London VTS on VHF channel 69.
2. GRAVESEND REACH - DIVERS GROYNE REPAIR WORKS - On or about Monday 7th or 14th August 2023, marine contractors working on behalf of the Port of London Authority will commence works to repair the missing Divers Groyne markers 1 (outer), 2 (inner) and 3 (inner). These works include; marking the location of the missing markers, preparation works, piling of new markers and vessels taking the ground, which are expected to take approximately 2-weeks from commencement. An area of ‘works in progress’ will be established around the site for the duration of the works as indicated on the chartlet. Requests for vessels to ‘proceed with caution’ or ‘pass at slow speed’ will be made by London VTS on VHF Ch.68, in accordance with the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide, under ‘London VTS’, Section 4. Vessel engaged in these operations will be maintaining a listening watch to VHF Channel 68. Further details will be broadcast by London VTS on VHF Channel 68 as required.
3. Harwich Haven Channel Deepening Project: Temporary Buoy moves – update 13 - After completion of dredging operations, the following buoys will be returned to their assigned positions. See details in the usual web page.
4. Whitaker No 6 Lighted Buoy - Whitaker No 6 Lighted Buoy in approximate position: 51° 39.351N, 001° 02.000E is now lit.
5. London Array Wind Farm - the Cable Lay Vessel (CLV) “NP-459” will be onsite from 9th August 2023 for approximately 3 to 4 weeks to carry out cable repair operations on the H15-I15 cable at the following location within the London Array Wind Farm. The notice is 9 pages so you can download it on the usual webpage in the Local List. The important bit is: the replacement is well within the field of the Wind Farm, away from Foulger's Gat BUT the Glomar Wave is an accommodation vessel supporting operations. A 500m radius restricted zone will be put in place centred on the vessel. The vessel will be anchored either:
• South of the Wind Farm between Foulger’s Gat and Fisherman’s Gat (Area #1)
• North of the Wind Farm (Area #2)
This restricted zone will be in place when the vessel is at anchor. The anchor spread will consist of up to two anchors extending approximately 150m from the bow and stern. It should be observed that neither anchor has surface buoys deployed.
There is an image in the Local List showing the potential position fo the 'otel' vessel. Area #1 is close to the south entrance of Foulger's Gat.
That's it.
