1. River Thames - Greenwich Reach to Mortlake Reach - Oarsome Challenge 2025 -
on the dates listed below, London Youth Rowing will be holding the annual Oarsome Challenge, taking place between Poplar, Blackwall & District Rowing Club in Greenwich Reach and Mortlake & Anglian Alpha Boat Club in Mortlake Reach.
Tuesday 15th July start at 13.10 end at16.10
Wednesday 16th July start at 13.45 end at 16.45
Thursday 17th July start at 14.20 end at 17.20 All times are approximate
The start location is in the chartlet (see in the Local List at Notices to Mariners) marked by a red dashed line. The events will take place on the flood tide with approx.16 Skerries making passage from PBDRC to Chiswick Bridge with 5 safety boats in attendance.
All vessels will maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 14. Masters of vessels navigating throughout these events should navigate at a safe speed paying particular attention to their wash. Further details will be broadcast by London VTS on VHF Channel 14.
2. River Thames - Blackwall Reach - Brunswick Wharf Exclusion Zone - Thiis Notice supersedes and replaces M70-25, which is hereby cancelled. A 60-meter exclusion zone is currently in effect adjacent to Brunswick Wharf in Blackwall Reach. This restriction is expected to remain in place for approximately three months. The exclusion zone has been established due to structural issues in a shoreside building, which pose a potential risk to vessels navigating in the vicinity. The zone extends 60 meters from the river wall across the frontage of the affected building, as illustrated. No vessels are permitted to enter the marked exclusion zone.
3. Shotley Spit Buoy – Out of Assigned Position – Update 1 - the Shotley Spit Buoy has been temporarily relocated to the following position: • 51°57.12’N, 001°17.39’E (Approximately 50 metres from its original position on a bearing of 251°). A further notice will be issued once the buoy has been returned to its assigned position.
4. Surveyed Depths – Harwich Harbour – Update 12 - the latest hydrographic surveys showing depths in Harwich Harbour. The controlling depth for deep draught vessels navigating within the harbour area should currently be taken as 15.1m below chart datum, plus height of tide. If you want to see full details, go to the Local List and you can download full details and the chartlets - it's all about Ships.
5. Harwich Haven - Dredging and Survey Operations – Update 1 - dredging and survey operations are taking place as follows:
➢ Porthos (Callsign: MYVS5) –is carrying out survey operations in Harwich Harbour, Felixstowe berths and the River Stour until around 08 July 2025.
➢ MTS Valour (IMO: 9407299) – is carrying out plough dredging in Harwich Harbour, Felixstowe berths and the River Stour until around 10 July 2025.

6. River Medway – Saltpan Reach - Thamesport - Diving Operations 2nd Phase. - the 2nd phase of diving operations are due to take place at Thamesport Terminal, Isle of Grain. Dive operations are required to carry out maintenance work on the power station intakes located under the quay. Work is due to recommence on or around 14th July 2025 with completion expected by 25th July 2025. Diving operations will be carried out between bollards 16 and 18 (see below), Thamesport have confirmed that vessel mooring plans will accommodate the work. All dive ops. will be carried from the support vessel KM Otter who will maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 74 whilst on site. All vessels passing Thamesport should navigate with caution, reduce speed and wash and maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 74 at all times, vessels manoeuvring onto and off of Thamesport should check the status of diving operations prior to arrival/departure.
7. East Anglia Wind Farm - further to the thread last week with activities off Bawdsey there is a long NtM from the Wind Farm and I have attached relevant details of operations from the weekly bulletin. It is long so I cannot post it here but you can read it at the Local List on the web page quoted above. The short message is: Nearshore works (off Bawdsey) are continuing and the primary vessel - the NKT Victoria - now has a 1000m exclusion zone. There are numerous vessels working on the cable route and at the wind farm.
8. London Array Wind Farm - Drone Operations -
All mariners are advised that the Work Vessel Spectrum 1 will be onsite from 11/07/2025 undertaking low level Drone Survey Operations. Survey works will be carried out between G15 and H13. (That's well clear of Foulger's Gat). Planned Locations and Restricted Access Zones A 750m radius restricted zone will be in place, centred on the Spectrum 1 whilst conducting drone operations with in the wind farm .If access is required to this zone for non-project vessel traffic, authorisation must be requested from the vessel. The area marked red on the map indicates the flight route planned for low level drone survey,

That's it.
