UKHO Permanent/Temporary/Preliminary Notices
1. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - 8 reduction of depth, 3 in Gorleston Road in the south approaches to Great Yarmouth and 5 further south in Corton Road. Two images; the first image includes 4 reductions of depth in Gorleston Road lat week vide NtM 2873. The reductions are unlikely to hinder leisure craft.
2. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - Ten reductions of depth off Great Yarmouth. One on the east side of the Middle Cross Sand, four on the west side of the Scroby Sands between the NW. Scroby and the Scroby Elbow buoys and five in the narrow channel east of the Corton Sands. These latter five are shallow and in the centre of that ‘channel’ depth is reduced from 16m to 3.7m! Three images.
3. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - Two reductions of depth in the Holm Channel 9southern approaches to Great Yarmouth. One right by the Mid Corton SHB and the other in the south entrance to the channel. Neither would hinder leisure craft but continuing reductions in that whole area.

4. ENGLAND - East Coast - Buoy. - New ‘ship’s’ mooring in the River Crouch, north side near the ship’s turning circle area off Burnham Wick. As it is unlit, probably worth noting. Image.
5. FRANCE - North Coast - Buoy. Legend. - Last year a Notice (3541/23) announced two new yellow special buoy (POG and ODAS) on the offshore banks off Dunkerque. This notice deletes the POG yellow buoy.
6. BELGIUM - Submarine cable. Lights. Obstruction. - An eclectic Notice: details of the Belgium side of the England-Belgium submarine power cable, two small moves of the positions of lights within Nieuwpoort and the discovery of a new Obstn within the commercial part of Zeebruggee harbour. The power cable is from the centre of the TSS just north of Foxtrot 3 to west of Oostende. Of the two lights within Nieuwpoort, one move is so small to illustrate, the second still in an obvious position. Three images.

1. River Crouch, River Roach - Newborn seals – Mind your wash - INFORMATION - Mind Your Wash. Mariners are requested to be extra vigilant and reduce their speed and keep wash to as minimal as possible when passing newborn seals, particularly in the River Roach area.
The Conservation of Seals Act (1970) protects common seals during their breeding season and it is illegal to cause disturbance that may affect the newborn pups. Your co-operation in this matter would be appreciated.
2. THE SWALE – FERRY REACH - KINGSFERRY BRIDGE - CLOSURES - Updates - given that: the first period of maintenance on the Kingsferry Bridge finished this morning, however, an issue has been discovered during testing today. Engineers are on site at the moment and trying to rectify the problem but until further notice, the bridge is not able to lift for any marine traffic. As soon as further detail is known an update to this notice will be published. Notice is hereby given that: due to scheduled maintenance work, Kingsferry Bridge will be closed to all navigation. Work to replace the wire lifting ropes is due to commence 7th June 2024 with completion expected by 28th July 2024. The work will be completed in 4 phases as detailed below, navigation through the bridge will be suspended for the periods stated as “shipping” and will be for the entire period specified. Broadcasts to alert river traffic of the closures will be made regularly by Medway VTS on VHF Ch.74 during the periods shown above. Kingsferry Bridge will be communicating the upcoming closures with river users on VHF Ch.10.
Whilst, at certain states of the tide, it will be possible for some craft to pass under the bridge it is strongly recommended that this is not tried due to the low, but present, risk of an item falling from the work area onto a vessel passing beneath. Admiralty Chart Number 2572 refers.

3. Rochester Bridge - Survey Work and Span Closure - survey work on Rochester Bridge is due to commence 17th June 2024. The Rochester Bridge Trust have commissioned contractors “Conway” to undertake some survey and investigation work on the Rochester Service Well and bridge abutment which will result in the closure of the Rochester span during work periods. The multi-cat Emilia D will be on site on or around 17th June and will be working for approximately 5 days under and around the bridge span during which times the Rochester span will be closed to navigation. The centre and Strood spans of the bridge will remain open and unaffected by the work. Whilst in position Emilia D will maintain a listening watch on VHF Ch. 74 at all times Admiralty Chart No. 1835 refers. 4. London Array Wind Farm - Jack up Operations - the Jack-up Vessel “Wind” provided by Ziton, will be on site from 14/06/2024 until 30/07/2024 to carrying out Heavy lift Component exchanges at various locations throughout the windfarm. Jack-Up Vessel Ziton Wind has a length of 55m, breadth of 18m with a draft of 4.8m. Equipment will be periodically deployed and suspended from the vessel crane during jack up operations. A 500m radius restricted zone will be in place, centred on the Ziton Wind whilst pinned on location. If access is required to this zone for non-project vessel traffic, authorisation must be requested from the vessel master. The vessel will be supported by CTV’s Windcat 27, 29, 21, 36, 39 and Spectrum 2 as required during its time on site at London Array.
