UKHO Permanent/Preliminary/Temporary Notices
1. NETHERLANDS - Buoyage. - This preliminary notice is advanced warning advising that buoy positions in the Banjaard, Westgat and Roompot channels (approaches to the Oosterschelde) are being changed and characteristics are also being altered. Details will be announced in due course. No image.
2. ENGLAND - East Coast - Fouls. - Four new ‘FOULS’ in the Southend Deep Water Anchorage south of the Shoebury Beacon. Unlikely to be an anchorage for leisure craft!

1. THAMES ESTUARY - SUNK PRECAUTIONARY AREA - SUNK INNER LIGHT FLOAT (ALL Vol.A2172, ALRS 51930) - Latitude 51° 51.170’N., Longitude 001° 34.400’E - Amendment: On or about the 4th August 2023, for a period of approximately 8 weeks, the Sunk Inner Light Float will be replaced with a Safe Water Buoy, as follows:
Light: L Fl 10s – Nominal Range of 9nm; Hazard Warning Signal: Wave actuated bell; AIS Transmission: MMSI 992351027 “Sunk Inner”, Racon: Morse “T” X&S Band; Further notice will be given when the Safe Water Buoy is removed and the Light Float is re-established.
2. RIVER THAMES - HALFWAY REACH - SURVEY OPERATIONS - on or about 16th June 2023, survey operations will begin at the former Barking Power Station outfall in the vicinity of Thunderer Jetty. The survey operations will take approximately 4 days. The survey works will be carried out by the OCEAN ECHOES. When surveying, the vessel will be restricted in her ability to manoeuvre and will display the appropriate lights and shapes. Vessels are requested to be mindful of their wash and pass at a safe distance. The vessel will keep a listening watch on VHF channel 68 and details of the survey works will be broadcast by London VTS. Further details may be broadcast by London VTS on VHF channel 68.
3. PORT OF GREAT YARMOUTH - Bathymetric Survey Work – Port Limits & Approaches - Survey Vessel RS 11 will be conducting bathymetric survey activity of Great Yarmouth Port Limits & Approaches between the hours of 06:00am & 16:00pm daily from Monday 12th June 2023 until Friday 16th June 2023. Due caution should be exercised by all vessels operating within the area highlighted in Green, shown below in ‘Fig 2 Survey area’ by maintaining safe distance. RS 11 can be contacted on VHF Ch12. Mariners are reminded to maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 12 and notify RS 11 of intensions if passing within proximity. 4. Burnham Fairway Buoys - Please note that the Burnham Fairway starboard lighted buoys listed below have been temporarily removed for annual maintenance. It is expected that they will be re-deployed on Tuesday 13th June 2023.

5. IPSWICH - Environment Agency Flood Defence Repairs - from Monday 3rd July the Environment Agency will be undergoing a planned 8 week period of Flood defence repairs in the vicinity of Debbage Yachting, the New Cut and Brett Aggregates Yard. Mariners are requested to keep well clear of any vessels supporting this maintenance programme throughout. See the plan for the areas of work.
6. London Array Wind Farm - the Jack-up Vessel “Ziton Wind” provided by Ziton, will be on site approximately from 15/06/2023 to carry generators exchanges at K14 and G18 estimated departing site on 18/06/ 2023 (weather dependant)
Jack-up Vessel: Ziton Wind Jack-Up Vessel Ziton Wind has a length of 55m, breadth of 18m with a draft of 4.8m Equipment will be periodically deployed and suspended from the vessel crane during jack up operations. The turbines involved are in-field and therefore are not close to Foulger's Gat.
