1. 4 Port of London Authority notices about the UXO around the Nore Sand. Locations are:

2. Thames Sailing Barge Match - this year’s Thames Sailing Barge Match will take place on Saturday 15th June 2024. Participating vessels are expected to assemble in Gravesend Reach, then proceed outward to the starting line in Lower Hope at Mucking No. 3 Buoy, with the competitors to start in groups between 0930 and 1000. The race, comprising up to 10 sailing barges and associated race official, will then proceed outward to the North Oaze Buoy, where they will turn about and return to Gravesend for the finish of the race. This intended
route may be shortened or otherwise modified on the day, according to the prevailing weather conditions. All participating sailing barges are expected to be equipped with AIS and are required to comply with local regulations and the International Regulations for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea. 3. Harwich Haven - Temporary Deployment of Scientific Instruments – Update 1 - On or around 11 - 12 June 2024, scientific equipment (ADCP) will be recovered from Site 1 in the Rough Shoals and relocated to Site 2, NE of Wadgate Ledge (see table and pictures below). The
instrument will remain at Site 2 for approximately 2 months duration or until this notice is withdrawn.

The scientific instrument will stand approximately 2m in height above the sea bed and will be marked with two special mark buoys, flashing a yellow light every 2.5 seconds, positioned NE /SW either side of the instrument. Mariners are advised to navigate with additional caution in this area and pass well clear of the temporary buoys. 4. Harwich Haven - Sediment Sampling – Jean T - the tug Jean T (IMO: 9067441), will be carrying out sediment sampling work on or around 09 - 15 June 2024 in the following areas:
• Harbour Entrance
• Harwich Deep Water Channel between No.8 buoy and South Shipwash
5. Latest Survey Depths - River Stour Channel - the latest hydrographic survey (04 June 2024) for the River Stour has identified a minimum depth of 0.6m below chart datum. See survey chart extracts using the download b utton on the below quoted webpage - Local for further
details. This notice replaces 27-2024 Latest Survey Depths – River Stour Channel which is now withdrawn.
6. Surveyed Depths – Harwich Harbour – Update 2 - recent surveys have identified reduced depths in Harwich Harbour. The minimum depths (below chart datum) are:
• 15.4m - spot soundings between the Grisle Buoy and the Babergh Buoy
• 15.5m - spot sounding between Fort Buoy and Grisle Buoy

7. Sheerness Harbour – No.2 Berth - Quay Reinforcement Works - a programme of work to reinforce existing structural piles underneath Sheerness No.2 berth will getting underway shortly. Work to install pile reinforcement collars is due to commence on or around 10th June 2024 with completion expected by mid-December 2024. Scaffolding will be fixed to the underside of berth 2 to allow contractor access to the piles in the approximate area highlighted below for strengthening. The works team will be operating between 06:00 and 22:00 on a daily basis but will work to a set tidal window ie. up to 4.2m HoT on the flood tide and from 4.2m HoT down to low water. Contractors will be in daily communication with one of the following: port vessels team, Marine Management Team or Medway VTS who will brief them with details of movements on and off of Sheerness No.2 berth. Work’s staff will vacate the area under the berth during the arrival and departure of ships, when ships are either alongside and shut down or have safely departed the crew will restart operations underneath the quay. At certain stages of the work small boats will be utilised to deliver steel collar sections to the team under the berth, the collars will then be winched up into position prior to installation. All vessels transiting Sheerness Harbour should be aware that men will be working under the berth, close to water line and conducting hazardous lifting operations. All vessels should navigate at a safe distance from No.2 berth, reducing wash appropriately. 8. PORT OF GREAT YARMOUTH - BATHYMETRIC SURVEY OF GREAT YARMOUTH RIVER PORT & OUTER HARBOUR. - Bathymetric survey operations will be undertaken within Great Yarmouth River Port between the River Port entrance and Haven bridge on Monday 10th June 2024 followed by the Outer Harbour Survey on Tuesday 11th June 2024. Survey Vessel RS 11 will be conducting the survey, due caution and attention must be exercised when entering Great Yarmouth Port including observance to maintaining safe distance. RS 11 will be monitoring VHF Ch12.
9. Ipswich - East Inner Lock Gate Maintenance - the Ipswich Lock will be reduced to a 1 gate operation between: -
Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th June 2024. This is due to essential engineering works. Mariners requiring further information or updates on timings should contact ONS on VHF CVH 68.
10. Ipswich Plough Dredging - plough dredging will be taking place in 2 campaigns: -
UKD Sealion – 4th June – 8th June
UKD Seahorse – 16th June – 21st June
Mariners are requested to pass these vessels slowly and cautiously. A listening watch will be maintained at all times on VHF CH 68. Mariners requiring further information can do so by calling ONS on VHF CH 68
11. MV Reimerswaal – Ipswich Power Station Berth - new vessel arriving into the Port of Ipswich. The MV Reimerswaal will be berthing off of Ipswich Power Station berth. The vessel will berth across the main channel during discharge operations for approximately 2 hours.
During the discharge the port will be closed for commercial movements. Leisure craft are requested to pass well clear. The commercial river traffic will be managed by ONS, mariners requiring more information can do so by contacting: -
