1. SEA REACH OIKOS JETTY NO. 2 LIFTING ACTIVITIES - During the week commencing Monday 26th November 2018 lifting activities will take place on the jetty head at OIKOS Jetty No. 2. The works will be carried out from the crane barge HEBO-LIFT2, which will be positioned on the outside face of the jetty. When lifting operations are in progress a ‘Proceed with Caution’ will be in place and broadcasts made by London VTS on VHF Channel 68 in accordance with Permanent Notice to Mariners P4.
2. Harwich Harbour - New position for obstruction on seabed- reduction in charted depth - new location for the previously reported object on the seabed. The object is now located 100m on a bearing of 347° from the Grisle Buoy’s charted position, with coordinates 51° 56.942556’ N, 001° 18.258423’ E (WGS 84). The minimum available depth above this object is 13.4m below chart datum (1.1m reduction in charted depth). There is a nice sonar image of the 'something' and an image of the charted position courtesy of Imray. Same page as above but click on the Temporary List;
3. LOWESTOFT OUTER HARBOUR – HAMILTON PENINSULA BOARDING LADDER - the yellow boarding ladder on the SE corner of the Hamilton Peninsula cannot be used until further notice.
At this time it is unknown to when the ladder will be fit for use and a notice will be issued at this time.
4. East Coast of England - The Wash - Approaches to Kings Lynn - Establishment of new Special Mark Buoy - on or about 22nd November 2018, 1 new Special Mark danger buoy will be established to indicate a newly designated Foul Ground* area on the seabed at the following locations: • Yellow Special mark buoy "Z2" - Pillar Y, Cross Y ‘X’ topmark, Fl (4) Y 10s in position Lat 52° 54.050’N., Long 000° 16.115’E. The area of foul Ground extends approx. 1000m to NNE and 1000m to SSW from the above position. *Foul Ground is defined as “as an area of foul ground, not dangerous to surface navigation, but to be avoided by vessels anchoring, trawling etc”. The chart symbol for foul ground is a pecked line surrounding a # symbol. The attached chart extract details the location of the foul ground and associated Isolated Danger buoy. I have added their chartlet to the usual page on the Temporary List;
