There are fusion reactors working right now producing more than they consume. Commercialising them will take time but the tech does now work. Times move on.

Times move on but Fusion was coming soon when I started work 52 years ago, and now it is merely 'will probably be along some time' as I retire.

If I was a Scientist i would love the money to experiment with fusion, however I am/was a Research & Development fella, and my clients want(ed) a solution in the next few years
