[--word removed--] it, missed all the action; apparently Guardia all over the place.
SPANISH police were last night holding an Irishman and seven others after a €50m cocaine seizure.
Reports have named the man as Desmond Barry (42), from Clonakilty in west Cork.
The eight were arrested after police swooped on yachts in the port of San Antonio on the holiday island
of Ibiza and at the marina de Denia, north of Benidorm, on Spain's southeast coast.
Heavily armed officers from the Spanish National Police raided the yachts on Friday morning.
The police recovered more than 800kg of cocaine in the raids on the yachts.
Officers swooped on the British boat - the 48ft Joe Ann Moore - in San Antonio and found 717kg
of cocaine hidden in four secret compartments in the hull.
The boat's British owner was arrested along with another Briton and Barry.
In a second planned operation, police raided the Spanish boat Balula in the port of Denia on the Costa Blanca and found 116kg of cocaine.
And Balula is only 20 metres from me!!!!
The professional British skippers and the two other crew members were arrested.
Two families who had hired the vessel with a crew of three
for their summer holidays were on board, but were unaware
of the illegal cargo. In all, three Britons, three Spaniards, a
Norwegian and the Irishman were detained.
