I realise this question is coming from Lord Vader's side of boating, but could someone tell me how much slip a trimaran like this suffers from when going at this speed/angle,
they must be covering the ground at a lot more speed than I do with engine power,and for sure this is a very clever balancing act,
as I would guess that if the port side float dug in, the whole outfit would turn turtle on the nose.

very spectacular way of sailing nevertheless, very impressive!

BMW Oracle was built for the last Americas Cup, which was a total fiasco in my opinion. This picture was before she was fitted with a wing main.

2 races were held both won by Oracle the boat is now utterly useless and I believe was shipped back to the US to lie unused.

The curved dagger boards are becoming more common on smaller cats, both Formula 20 and A class now use them.
