I've crossed the Atlantic a couple of times and been a member of the NARC (Not ARC) community. Andy Press from Weston Bay Yacht Club seems to be doing the same with the Golden Globe Race.

Good luck to him.

I've been following Andy for a few months now, even before the start. It's an old club boat which I've been told is very capable and fast. I think he's been having a few issues and his last track was showing a WNW course for a fair few miles so I'm not sure whats up?

Either way I hope he gets into the groove and does it. I like the thought that you can play with the big boys without being in the club.

Good luck!

The latest track I can see is 1st August, is it anywhere other than www.wbyc.co.uk?

He pops up on marine traffic now and then (3rd August) off A Coruna but the track (that won't show now) was 270 degrees for 100 miles or so. Looks like he's heading towards the Azores which seems odd but he's out there and I'm not.

Another few updates, one saying he's stopping for repairs in the Azores. Surely the Canaries would be a better option with better winds and in the right direction?

It's starting to look more like an Atlantic crossing then a circumnavigation?!
