A rather thin rope to use for anchoring:

Doesn't look like it's sustained any real damage yet - anyone got a sturdy motorboat to drag it off with before it does?

Owner is a fellow member of the Yacht Club here . . . just joined.

Some chaps (fellow members) have already gone to help.

I also contacted a friend with a barge and crane to see if he could assist.

I am not sure if the hull is sound. She is a wash with water in the cockpit. I did not go aboard. It may very well be holed.

On closer inspection I think you're right. I was assuming the port rail was under because she was heeled over by the keel being sat on the bottom - but actually, I don't think the rail would submerge at that angle if the hull was still properly buoyant.

Best not dragged off without a proper inspection and a plan - at least the contents can be salvaged at the moment.

UPDATE:

Yacht now raised and on dry land.

Hull is holed in a few places and appears to be structurally compromised . . . not looking too good.

Probably a lot of work required.

I hope he is insured . . . but doubt it.

We have had 25 -35knts today, and yesterday, poked our nose out of jolly harbour but had lots of wind so dropped the hook in a sheltered bay and had a beer.

Marina proceeding a pace, re dredged, new pontoons, new refueling area. No lift out yet but I was very happy with it and have my berth all secured and paid for. Lovely staff, very friendly

Arriving on June 12th avec SWMBO, leaving her there in new home and coming back to France for the boat. Then sailing across in November.

6 months of unburdened joy!
