It appears that I can buy the crane that lifted our first 'proper yacht' out of the water for a scrub and anti-foul. Cost me a case of beer to the chief at the time. (Those were the days - you can't do that sort of thing anymore!!)

I suppose I could have put a 'Where is it' in the title - many people on here sail past it regularly.
Crane For Sale

Not on commission. The anchor amused me - I have been on the ship it was on and anchor threads are legendary on here, so I thought it might amuse others.

The crane really did lift 'Gem' a Sadler 25 that we bought for £9k and sold for.... er... £9k a couple of years later. I remember trying to get a fire hose to reach to wash her down with.

Obviously, with these posts, I wasn't busy enough this morning...

Re: But where is it?

I have visions of this crane muttering to itself "It wasn't like this in the good old days. I remember when Wrens weren't allowed near ships, when hard tack was a luxury, when boats had proper guns and captains had beards. Blimey, I dunno, what's it all coming to, no good'll come of it, I tell you..."
