Hi

I wonder if those berthed or cruise in Liverpool bay or surrounding area could recommend the antifoul that has worked best for you. I don't go above 25knots and its a GRP 24 ft motorboat, I haven't done my own before but considering doing it this time.

Any suggestions on what system to apply would be gratefully received.

thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,

I have used Flag for years in that area with no problems, you can't use the cruising that I use as it's for "Slow Boats" :) they do several different ones so read the info as to which one is suitable for your boat.

Don't listen to Tom.
He only uses Flag cos I bet someone gave him a 25 gallon drum of it
www.braditepaints or sumatt like that google it
Speak to them
Proper boys and right money
Tom's boat is made of regurgated matchsticks too
However, I will give Him this
Little Ship gets out an about a lot so no gremlins can hang on to Her bum
Not sure about Tom's though innit;)

I've used VC Offshore with Teflon for many years, lifting only once a year and usually overwintering in my berth in Peel.

Boat comes out and is wonderfully clean, far cleaner than others I see lifted in Bangor.

Water in Peel harbour is quite brackish due to the through flow of fresh down the Neb, maybe that helps.

What grows in fresh water will die in salt and what grows in salt water will die in fresh, so yes that will help. When I was in Port dinorwic. The hull never had any growth on it. This year in Scotland the Flag is still working well but I have barnacles on the prop which I never have painted in the past.
