Leaving Conwy 3 hours before HW give 90 minutes max to get to Menai Bridge at HW slack..

Even using Penmean Swatch, this seems to be cutting it a bit fine. Am I being over cautious or do locals regularly do this?

Passage planning for tomorrow

If you are on a mooring so not restricted to marina gate times, it's easy. Just push the tide as soon as you can and use the swatch. Don't worry too much about the Swellies provided you are familiar with the passage, I've done it up to 3 hours after slack on springs a few times.

I use to do that on a regular basis (slow Mobo) out of Conwy marina. if you are a little late for slack at the Swellies dont worry too much as the tide will be running South so you will get pushed through.

I have been through 2 hrs after slack no problems.

Listen to Kwackers advice...... mind you, you wont understand what hes saying

You will be in good company tomorrow. I would expect quite a few to be doing the same trip at the same time to make the most of the sheltered side of Anglesey for the weekend.

Wouldnt worry too much about going through after HW slack at least the current is going the right way!

Thanks guys - just what I was hoping to hear.

I can put off the low water swellies passage for another day!
