Sitting on SV Friday evening we had a look at the weather forecast and could see that North Wales was going to get two days sunshine so a couple of quick texts to MartynK, JamesTT & Littleship and the decision was made to head over Saturday pm.

We left Malahide in a blustery Southerly about 1 hour before HW and enjoyed the Irish Sea as it flattened out the further we went.

SV running at 1800rpm & 25 knots saw us arrive safe and sound 2 1/2 hrs later. The sun was up, the wind was down and we were heading out with MartynK for a bite in the evening. Life just dosen't get better than this.

Grabbed the forecast again before heading to bed and it looked like the wind will increase at the Irish side to Southerly F4 or 5 the following evening so we decided to head home at HW Sunday pm.

A quick detour to Rhosneigr Beach to wave at MartynK and family and we were off home. Sea conditions were initially flat but increased as we went West and we arrived 3 hours later to a very lumpy sea between The Kish and Lambay for the last 30 mins or so.

Safely berthed at Malahide @ 16:30 as the wind picked up and the sky started to darken with heavy cloud.

It was great to meet MartynK & MrsK again. Sorry we missed Littleship and JamesTT.

Sounds like we made the right decision about Dublin then. Dont mind rough sea and warm. But rough sea and cold, is orrible.

We found a nice little place called Rhoscolyn. Nasty rocks in the middle though.

I'll try and find the picture when back home.

Rhoscolyn - 7th pic down in my post above?

I saw a couple of boats at anchor in there - looks tight?

No problem Phil - glad you liked them.

SV looks nicer in the "Spot the forumite" thread.

I wouldn't mind something a bit erm... cheaper to run in the current climate /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Glad you liked the pics.

Hi Mick, glad to read that you had a good trip, sorry we missed you.
As you experienced North Wales had fantastic weather all weekend, although the midday ish HW times precluded longer trips due to the tidal restrictions at Conwy. Midday LW times work better for us for trips as far as Holyhead, we can get out in the morning before the gate rises and back in on the flood later in the afternoon/ early evening.
SV2 looks stunning in MartynK's pictures from the beach.
We did get plenty of time on the water though over the weekend, we visited a very busy Caernaefon Marina on Saturday, Moelfre on Sunday and Red Wharf Bay yesterday.
We'll catch you soon hopefully!

Now then.......... I could do a swop with a little cash adjustment on a very frugal and well cared for item??? that's if you could take all the stick that's given out!!
