Is there any particular reason why the RORC North Sea Race is a midweek race this year? In previous years it's always been over a weekend, and in the Provisional Race Program back in January it was to be the weekend of the 24-26 May. On that basis I signed up to do the race with a crew I often race with, but I've just been sent the Notice of Race and it now says the race starts on Tuesday 26th May. That is going to cause me difficulties, and i suspect quite a few boats will struggle to find the crew especially with crew needing time for the Fastnet later in the year.

Does that finish in Schevenening or Oostende as that w/e 27 th May is Oostende voor Anker festival

It seems to be part of the North Sea Regatta which starts with the Vuurschepenrace Race (Scheveningen – Harwich) as a feeder race which is being raced over the bank holiday, then the RORC North Sea Race back to Harwick followed by a regatta for a weekend of inshore racing at Scheveningen. It's just frustrating that this year they seem to have scheduled it so that the RORC race is midweek (previously it's always been over a weekend, meaning easier to fit it with work commitments), and that's particularly frustrating if teams are relying on that race as a Fastnet qualifier.

Also, by having it the day after the Myth of Malham Race in a Fastnet year I suspect it might have fewer entrants than usual (unless there are lots of Dutch sailors joining it for the full regatta).
