So, it's that time of the year again....where did the Summer go?????

Next Saturday the 27th, is the North Ionian Corfu Regatta.
(Before some of you jump down my throat, that this should be in the Racing Forum, lots and lots of Liveaboards enter this race).

Anyways, it could well be a lively one this year, instead of the usual dead calm, it's promising 11 kts from the South East!!

Skippers meeting and late registrations at the (Quayside) Argo Restaurant at 10:30 on the Saturday morning.
Regards.

We have done the more southerly one out of Nidri. At the start there was zero wind. Those who had done it before all started on starboard at the starboard end of the line and very very slowly made some headway. We started at the port end and after half an hour had not crossed the start line. Outside, those who made it down the channel faced force 8 rounding the island.

The party afterwards was good though.

Hmmm ... it hasn't been very well publicised. This was the first mention I heard of the event, though today did notice a pile of entry forms in Gouvia marina office.

Pity, because I would have liked to take part, but am committed elsewhere now.

Hope it goes well.

Yeah, good point.
It's never really advertised, anywhere, just in the local Taverna's and Bars.
It's gonna be a lively one this year, what with the Southerlies promised...!!

Well, the Regatta turned out to be cracker.
Plenty of wind for the upwind leg, and a screaming run to the finish line.
There were 146 entries and everyone had a ball (and at the Party afterwards)
We bagged Second overall, well happy with that as I've only had the boat a month.
I think we need to practice with the big baggy thing, a bit more!!

Ah, slight error, 2 Pubs, there's the Beer Bucket, and there's the Old Barrel but I get your point, and yes, it was the BeerBucket (The owner was one of the Crew).......and yes...partied pretty late into the night...after the Prize giving party in the Argo Taverna on the Quayside.
