Norseman or Staylok cones

As per previous posts I need to remake some of the guard wires. I have some Staylok cones but they look bigger than the ones on the fittings so I guess that they may be Norseman. Can anyone confirm that the Norseman cones are in fact a smaller version of the Staylok. This for 19 strand 5mm.

I'm not quite sure what you are trying to identify. The fittings themselves? Look at these two pictures http://www.pyacht.com/norseman.htm and http://www.tcschandlery.co.uk/c/267/Sta-Lok.html The difference between the two is that on the Norseman the pin end is the male, whereas on the Sta-Lok it is the female. The cones are sized for the wire, which is a good fit down the central hole.

They appear to be Norseman fittings! The cones inside are of course a fit to the wire.
The Norseman is 4mm shorter and so is narrower at the fat end to suit the Noresman fitting. All looks good now, I've just got to start making up the sections which need replacing. Some sections have been replaced over the years and some are going to need doing soon. I now realise that the original wires were galvanised but with the ends hidden by those plastic 'boots' it was ( as someone has said) an accident waiting to happen.
