So I have decided to purchase a cheap £400 Norman 18 to get out on the water whilst the Sundancer gets sorted. It's an outboard model so no engine issues just bolt something on and go. Fairly reasonable condition just needs some cosmetic improvements.

Will be using it on the river Medway freshwater stretch only between Tonbridge and Maidstone

Wanna improve the interior a bit and make a couple of other changes.

The interior of the Cockpit is Ply lined but still plain. Want to paint it White inside but not sure what the best paint to use would be..

Have seen some boats. With a sheet of Chequer Plate or alloy on the transon where the outboard mounts not sure whether this is cosmetic or structural but it looks nice and I'd like to add it can I just buy a sheet of Chequer Plate or is there more to it.

The BSS certificate what do I need to add to the boat to comply. It will be a basic river plodder with 10ish hp outboard and apart from basic led lights etc no major electrics and no cooker.

Anything else to consider
