Non tidal medway silted up above East Peckham

And as that boat owner moored just above tovil footbridge found out in the recent floods scaffold poles just dont cut it, especially when they are not tall enough and their boat came adrift wedged against the footbridge itself.
I always chuckle to myself when I remember the lady of the boat telling me proudly its a sea going boat dont you know!

Speaking to the owner today the boat wasn't on scaffold poles at all, it was tied to mooring rings. The water level rose so high they were unable to get to it and after pulling the side down the cleats thankfully gave way casting her free until she stopped against the bridge. Sea going boat or otherwise not a very nice thing to happen!

Ask yourself one simple question, what were the mooring rings sliding up and down on?
I saw the boat and can say no cleats were missing that I could see, the only bit that was broken was the anchor windlass as they had roped it to the pipe bridge and as the levels dropped the anchor widget ripped the front fibreglass apart, of course if you saw something I didnt I apologise
I dont think I gave the impression it was a nice thing, just plain stupid! same as the little red fairline in town tied to the rings outside the courthouse, the river rose the boat didnt!
Better/closer pics, all cleats look like they are there, I would assume boat was moored port side to bank facing into river flow, hence large number of fenders.
