Time to tidy up Valkyrie's deck, which is canvas over ply, painted. I'll scrape back the old finish where it's a bit flaky, and lightly sand the rest, but what to apply on top? Ideally I'd like a matt finish in a mid brown or dark grey. 18' halfdecker, so the deck doesn't get walked on as such, so no need for 'gravel' loaded deck paint, but I don't think that marine gloss would look right on the deck either.
Ideas / recommendations please.

Textured masonry paint goes on much easier, costs less and lasts longer. Nice non-slip finish, easy to clean and a good range of colours. Lots of us use it nowadays in preference to expensive and short lived 'deck paint'

My boat has Blakes Non Slip pale- mid blue on deck ... and the large tin kept spare has finally dried up and lumped ...

Living in Latvia - tried to get similar ... would need to ship it in and boy price shoots up.

Asked local fisher guys and they all pointed at local DIY Garden shop ... exterior wall paint .... in over 100 different colours ............... ready to go .......... and it fills those areas that have lifted and edged....... sand first to grade the edge in and then paint.

So it'll be mid blue wall paint later this summer.
