19ft open boat with new fibreglass non skid deck. Was wandering to do synthetic teak in order to minimise deck cleaning. Non skid gets dirty really easily. Boat in Mediterranean sea in very warm climates. Heard that synthetic teak gets hot very easily. Views?

We had synthetic Teak (flexiteak) on one our previous boats located in Majorca, in my opinion it gets too hot if it's in an area exposed to the sun,and also gets quite dirty easily, and I'd be reluctant to have it again. I think flexiteak is a good option in cooler climates.

I think real teak is better than flexiteak as a flooring surface, primarily because it stays cooler than flexi teak, but it requires maintenance, and doesn't last forever.

In my opinion, The best surface in terms of practicality is the textured surface that is moulded into the fibre glass in the factory ,it doesn't get hot, is easy to clean, and is exceptionally hard wearing,it just doesn't look as nice as real teak or flexiteak.

Our current boat (axopar 28) just has the moulded fibre glass textured surface and it's excellent ,but doesn't look as nice as teak or flexi teak

Thanks Mate. I boat in Malta with temperatures same as Mallorca. Yes i have the textured surface molded one. Gets dirty easily but very practical as you mentioned.

Love our real teak especially the feel under are feet on the few UK days of the year when it is hot .
Most of the teak is under canopy cover when the boat is not in use so I don't find keeping it looking good to be a big issue. But guess that depends whether you fid boat cleaning generally a chore or just therapy for the mind.

Seems like yesterday was the hottest UK day of the year and I didnt get to the boat!
.

Went to the Swanwick boat show on Thursday and went on a Sealine with artificial teak on the bathing platform. Took our shoes off as requested and still have sore feet today! The heat was incredible and we had to jump off it! Definitely much hotter than real teak so I would suggest a complete no for the Med I’m afraid,
