Hi Guys,

I have a Seawych, currently white hull (blue bottom), and grey superstructure . The boats non skid element is part of the mould and a bit tatty.

So I'm going to re do all the non skid. What's your opinion on colours.
My favourite is blue, but do you think it will go with white and grey?

Options are, blue, grey, white or beige.

I suppose I could just go grey but want it to stand out from rest.

Blue nonslip deck paint looks horribly 70s to me. Makes me think of boats that are fundamentally strong and seaworthy, but all the gear is on its last legs, the inside is peppered with bad DIY modifications, the bunks have that horrible sweaty vinyl on them, and the whole thing smells of damp and elderly toilet hoses. We used to charter boats like that as students :)

I'd go for something which contrasts with the rest of the deck. Bland uniformity is lovely for brochures and marina dwellers, but less helpful at sea. You can make anti-slip paint any colour you like by mixing a bit of standard paint in with white anti-slip. I concocted some very nice pale yellow for the bottom of my dinghy that way.

I think Id stick to grey.

I cant think of a colour that would look good. I've seen light blue on grey but it does not look right. To look right I think you need a darker colour but dark colours get very hot in the sun.
