Non boaty - Skype query

Evening all,

I think I am being really thick, but earlier today I signed up to Skype, I have the intro screen, how do I progress from there to make calls I have pushed all the buttons - no luck.

I presume you've created a user name for yourself as part of the signing up process? Now what you have to do is populate your contacts list by searching for the folks you want to talk to. You find your friends and then ask them if they'd like to receive Skype calls from you. Once they respond, you will find that their names appear in a listing called people on the opening screen in the Skype app. A little green icon by their names shows that they're on line. Click the icon and it'll give you options: voice call, video call or instant messenger. Hope that helps.

I could think of many reasons!

Have you done the test call to make sure the sound is working.... you press the test button, then you leave a message, then you play it back?

Intro screen? Which one.

You need to add some contacts to make free voip calls.

You need to add credit to make calls to standard telephones.
