My last goldfish has died. I now have an empty 3' aquarium.

I would like to convert it into a small floral display unit. Has anybody else on the forum done this or could give some positive suggestions as to what type of flower/plant to get?

Many thanks for any replies.

My local corner shop uses one on the counter as a case for selling samosas out of :).

They used to just have them on a plate on the counter, and I think Trading Standards told them that was unhygienic and they needed to be behind glass. Saving the cost of a proper serving counter, they put a fish tank up on end with a cardboard shelf taped to the inside halfway up, and a cardboard door on the back (formerly the top). Unorthodox, but seems to be within the rules as they've been doing it like that for years now. Certainly the samosas are just as good :)

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, meat samosas!!! :)

Can I persuade you to bring a batch along on the Poole cruise?

How about a wormery? I think I saw one, at school. It's very low-maintenance. Just fill it with soil and a few worms. I s'pose they need watering occasionally.

Not absolutely a thrill a minute, but quite interesting watching them tunnel. Just don't let the cat use it, rather than going outside...

I once saw an old fish tank used for growing pot..! I don't know if you'd like to go down that road. A little mote exciting;) just a thought..
