Nokia Isle of Wight Festival

The festival is on this year 10-12 June (www.efestivals/festivals/iow) Went to this last year and it was great. You can book a berth in Island Harbour Marina and walk along the river (10-15 mins) to the festival site. The line up has not yet been announced, but if you liked the bands who played last year (Stereophonics, Manic Street Preachers, The Who etc.) then its a fair bet it will be the same type of bands this year. All the fun and atmosphere of Glastonbury, and somewhere civilised to stay and go, if you know what I mean.

Bit ominous that they have put the tickets on sale before they have anounced the line up - I would think big names would be booked up more than 5 months in advance.

It was the same last year and they still got some top bands - at Glastonbury they don't announce the line up until the event starts.

I was amused to see that The Who were there last year. I was there in 1969 when they were also playing!

Have to disagree with you about similarities with Glastonbury. I went along from Island Harbour & they wouldn't let me in with a) my own booze, b) my dog. Spirit of '69? Don't think so!
