The Jabsco 37202 2012 Shower Drain Pump in our en-suite is incredibly noisy- much louder than it should be. It still draws water, though not particularly well.
A new pump is about £200, but a service kit £40. Do I need a new Pump or will a service kit solve the problem?

My Jabsco shower drain is fairly quiet. Offhand, I don't know which model it is. It may be a problem with the mounting. The fixings should be through rubber bushes. My fresh water pump can make a lot of noise if it is wrongly tightened, such that part of the boddy of the pump touches the bulkhead. I would try running it off the mounting, and if it is still noisy perhaps try servicing it. Presumably there is a filter in line which is clean.

+1
I have that exact model - sounds like a mounting problem rather than anything a service kit will fix. If there is not a filter in the inlet line (usually a Jabsco Pumpguard) the pump body may need disassembling and the diaphragm valves may need cleaning as showers collect gunge. You may find the filter is well hidden and needs cleaning. If you take apart the pump photograph the positions of the little circular diaphragm valves as you do so - saves another dissassembly then reassembly to get them back in the right way round. You can tell I've got the T-shirt....

From memory the service kit is mostly just new diaphragms and gaskets, plus a couple of metal fittings that won't need replacing.

The filter is clean. The pump clears water but there’s quite a lot of back flow when the pump is off, so I guess at least one of the valves is faulty.
Thanks for the mounting tip - i’l try removing it and see how it sounds.
