Hi all
My 1979 Mariner 3.5hp air cooled outboard had been unused for a long time as I had been using the Honda 4 stroke. However, I dug it out from the depths of the garage to see if it still worked. It eventually started but would not run, so after stripping and cleaning the carb, it is now no longer producing a spark.
I then replaced and gapped the points but still nothing.
I have basic knowledge with electrics but I am no expert, so can someone kindly explain how would I check the stator coil and the condensor? and also to check if there is a spark at the points? I have a multimeter.
