<<"Right now, we are on starboard gybe...">>

I've been sailing for 30 something years now and don't know what a starboard gybe is. Can you ask Preecy to explain this new tactic to us lessor mortals.

Thanks

Surely this is a long-accepted term? Being on a starboard gybe implies being on a s. tack, but (usually) running or v broad reaching. Racers use this sort of terminology when they could be on (tactically) either gybe.
