No more "Traffic Dues" for EU boats in Greece

The Greek governjment has revoked the controversial law which charged around £110 for a foreign, even an EU yacht to traverse it's waters. The only charge levied now on visiting yachts is a €30 fee for a Transit Log Book. This, I understand is also waived for yachts permanently based in Greece - proof required is evidence of a regular berthing contract.

Where did you read that? Could you post a link? Maybe if they allow scuba-diving too I may decide to go back there..

no I am sure they will not allow un-supervised scuba, they are paranoid about relics etc.

Try Dubai and go across to the east coast of the emirates and experience some real diving, probably one of the last pristine scuba areas left.

Good news. I may consider going again if their maritime officials can give up bullying well-intentioned foreign visitors (who bring money to their 3rd-world basket-case economy) and the populace as a whole can dump their racist paranoia about Turkey. Perhaps not surprisingly, xenophobia is a Greek word.
