Those up country forumites who travel from the Midlands to the South West down the M5 will be pleased to hear of the closure soon of the British Cellophane factory at Bridgwater which over many years produced that rotten eggs pong. Seems cellophane is not much used these days.
On second thoughts, perhaps some of you might miss it? It made a good waypoint.

Agreed, I'd sooner put up with a brief pong for a couple of minutes while passing than have the distress and worry that must be being felt by those who worked there.

End of an era. Hopefully the site will spawn factory units and Bridgewater can become famous for something else.

Is the camel still there? You can get a good bearing off that.

Hi Uncle Albert and Flying Junior!!

Good Lord!! I'd forgotten all about the Camel! I remember my two sons pressing their noses to the car window AGES before we got there so they didn't miss it. That goes back a few years 'cos they're in their late twenties now!!

Thanks for bringing back the memories.

Cheers Jerry
