No More Santa!

I know there are many who would like to take the religion out of Christmas, but judging by the way this thread is going, and in order to maintain some peace and harmony this Christmas/Year End/Winterval (or whatever else you want to call it) maybe we should keep religion (and Christmas) out of Yachting??

Perhaps you mean "foisted"; although hoisted is probably acceptable on a yachty forum ?
I note that not only do you want to keep Christ out of Christmas - you don't realise that holiday was "holy day" and introduced by the churches to give workers a break and cause for celebration ? Otherwise we would all still be working 7/52.

I admire someone who is prepared to stand up and be counted on such a cynical forum as this and wish a few more Christians were - and a Happy Christmas one and all.

Don't tell anyone, I actually like the xmas period, and what it stands for. The Christian bit gets up my nose though. You don't need that belief to practice christian ethics <g>
