Well, couldn't very well go out could I? Mission for this weekend was to get the newly finished dash back on Whitleighter, and get the plotter working and mounted. Bonus jobs were get the Autopilot control head and wiring in place, remount the guages and get my new inflatable dingy from Sparkes.
Having been up half the night, kept awake by driving rain drumming above my head and the urge at 4 am to go and check the lines cos she was moving around so much, I decided to go have brekkie at Kitts on HI, get the dingy and drop in at the hardware store fo some 'essentials'. Brekkie went well, but the trip to sparkes delayed the start time as a cup of tea on a certain forumite Phantom was very much required (hey, boating is a social sport after all!)
Got back to Foulkes at around noon, and set about fitting my C70. I am pleased to say I have passed 'teach yourself marine electronics level 1', though made what I assume to be a newbie error.
I assumed buying a Raymarine plotter and GPS arial the two would be plug and play - nope. Ordering the required Seatalk cable tomorrow /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Anyway, after my DIY dash was so publically shown by RickP, I felt I should show you lot the propper thing.
It was too dark when I finished to get a pic with the plotter in and working, so you'll just have to trust me it does /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
