Just been informed from someone who was at the Boat Show yesterday, that the 2012 Olympics has toned down and re-clarified the security cordon off the Dorset Coast.
Free passage is allowed through the 'Precautionary Area', however you will be challenged by security police as to your intentions. Those en-route, are allowed to pass through, but you're not allowed to loiter around inside it. Latest details can be found in SailingAlmanac.com.
To spectate and have access through the security screen you must pre-book berthing/anchoring in advance. That'll cost you on average a 1000% above the normal seasonal rates! Only half the berths have been sold.
