Currently on a bareboat charter out of split and don't have a life raft. Is this not part of the compulsory charter coding in Croatia? Even if not surely this should be a must have as good level of service from a very reputable charter company. I now will not sail by night as a result, reducing my opportunity in places to visit.
I've tried google but cannot find definitive information. Any help appreciated.

Have you not asked the charter company to supply one? Surely their commitment to client safety says they should.

I would definitely rather have one than not, however if the boat is is good condition it wouldn't ruin my sailing plans. People have sailed for centuries without them. Just make sure tender is ready for deployment the best way you see fit.

It was normal not to have a liferaft on charter boats because most towed a dighy. I am not aware of any charter compay that allows sailing at night - insurance issues.

Not sure about Croatia, but it is a coding requirement in Greece, as is an EPIRB. Would be very surprised if it is not in Croatia, but expect you will have difficulty finding a definitive source of information.
