No fuel at Sparkes marina until after Easter

No petrol at Northney, if thats what you need.

Thought Sparkes was claiming '2 weeks' for fixed pumps? Guess not after all /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I was told they had started making them yesterday and that they had been quoted three to four weeks. Though this was followed by - assmuming no delays and you know how that goes.

We are only 4 weeks from the long weekend - do you think anyone will really pull there finger out to make sure it happens? Down tools at lunch on thursday more like.

Hmmm, this could be a problem, as my "final" fill up of last season ended up getting used several times until nowhere-near-full.

Might need jerry cans at this rate /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Hope it's not being fitted by the same guys who are fitting a new staircase to give access to the payment hut. This was going to be 3/4 weeks back in October. Seeing as in MDL's infinite wisdom the 'elf & safty' twerps closed off the vertical ladders. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
This meant fuel customers had a long walk around and back to pay which led to chaos/queues at the fuel berth most weekends thro' last summer. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Still can't complain I suppose, we got a new sign that tells us what the wind and tide are doing and 5 new trolleys. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
Nice investment MDL. Good use of my extra 5% increase in berth fees. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Derek my sentiments entirely!

My little half a tank bought just before Christmas is up for grabs!! Bidding starts at £1.20 per litre! Come on get used to it before November............. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

You forgot to mention the new signpost in the car park all pretty and illuminated at night. (Mind you we dont need it now Rog is blinged up with bloooo) /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Whats the current price of diesel at Southsea???
am I right in thinking the fuel pontoon is 'outside' the marina and available at most states of the tide??

I don't get it. When my old man used to run his petrol station / garage, he had a maintenance contract with the pump manufacturers, Avery Hardoll, I think.

If they went wrong (which they did) a service engineer would turn up in a van the same day. If things were really bad, the engineer might have to come back the next day with the parts.

I can only think that MDL didn't have any maintenance contract whatsoever, the pump has "died", and they are waiting to have a new one installed, which could take a few weeks to sort out.

Not good enough, really.
