No food for the hungry

I'm grumpy. I turn up as a visitor to a marina that boasts a good eatery. "Fully booked" they say when I go in for a meal. "I've turned up by boat" I say - "no other transport, it's getting late & the tides out so can't go anywhere else. Can I have some food?" "No! fully booked, good night".

Does anyone else have these problems or was I just unlucky?

I assume that you are talking about the south coast at weekends during the summer when I wouldn't expect any other response. Sorry, if this is a bit hard but you have to do your homework to get into a good eatery via booking it in advance, like the rest of us.

We keep some emergency meals on Sea Holly, but that isn't so easy if you have a charter.

I can't remember not having been able to get a meal in the evening, even at weekend in the height of summer, albeit that it may not be first choice and we may have to wait.

I think that you may have experienced an extreme case if you couldn't find anywhere, unless you had left it very late in the evening.

Where was this?

Ian
