What a superb weekend to be out and about on the river.

Spent Friday night on Fawley Meadow with Apollo and his family. Apollo has a secret ambition - he wants to grow up to be as grumpy as me!

Saturday night alongside the Rowing Museum - quiet and peaceful, no rowdy teenagers or owt like that. Bit strange having to pay the mooring fee using the car park machine - instructions are a nightmare!

Sunday morning tried to wake Pande to no avail before heading back downriver. Would have stopped at Marlow for lunch if the few boats there had been 'shoved up' but decided to cary on to Cookham and rafted alongside friends from Chertsey. Bumped into JJ when walking down the towpath en route to dinner. Oh shame - he recognised me but damned if I could place him at first!

Superb curry in Maliks - probably the best Indian restaurant I've been to.

Left earlyish this morning and back in Bray before lunch to find Oudrageous a few berths along form us after treating the folks over the weekend.

Out of 10 - probably 8 or 9 - doesnt the weather make a difference!

Oh, and I now know the identity of the miserable 'I'm not moving' bunny from an earlier post /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Great to see you Friday night, I can only aspire to follow in your footsteps....

Had a great weekend so far ......until........Shillingford Hotel...
Happy to pay the £10 mooring fee, cos its nice here and its got power.
Food was good in the bar, service ok apart from they kept calling us "Guys"
But really, why spoil it all by charging £2.50 PER CHILD, to use the open air pool!!!
By all means charge peeps that have turned up by car, but if we have paid the mooring fee, the pool always used to be included???

I am glad you enjoyed. I saw Brad on his way up and Fra said hello on his way down. I was not planning to boat this weekend... but got a call after the Monaco GP (good win for Button) that some friends were in the Kingfisher. So three of us left the Bells and piled/fell into the boat. We got to the Kingfisher and picked up 4 cyclists. Thankfully someone else drove... the collected SWMBO from Laleham Reach. A quick stop at the Swan and home. Jeez, I felt rough today....
