At the risk of stirring this up again, this is just to remind anyone wanting to get rid of their old cardigans at Christmas to hand them in to Oxfam. Apart from anything else you might scare the children.

Following reports from Thames branch of Greenwoods for yesterday (Weds), when noble volunteers got dragged away from their families to go looking:
222049 UTC Social services Thames received a report of a single man from a merchant vessel transiting the River Thames close to Canvey Island. The cardigan appeared to be worn in the Benfleet Creek area; Canvey social services were requested to investigate. Enquiries proved in-conclusive, but no further reports had been received and consider False Alarm, cardigan probably worn inland with Malicious Intent.

222109 UTC Social services Thames received a report of a red cardigan probably home knitted from a member of public, who was located in Conyer Creek, River Swale.

Herne Bay and Sheppey soup kitchen teams investigated and broadcast action was taken by radio 3, but nothing was found un-toward.
Considered False Alarm, with bad taste.

More reports of wool being sold for cardigan manufacture from haberdasheries up and down the country, be vigilant, your help might be needed. A more worrying trend is the recent sale of 30 big wood look buttons which make the cardigans extremely hazardous and if these are seen, please report immediately to the fashion police.

Lecture over!

In addition please note that police stations no longer take them in (even if open)
Apparently taking them to police stations often causes confusion among desk staff (apparently two different
spellings for them)
We would not want confusion to flare up would we?

Merry Christmas from Briani

Re: And under no circumstances....

...must tank tops be exposed in public places.

HMCG stresses, most strongly, that the uncontrolled use of flares, cardigans and tank tops, can, and does, cause distress to others. Persons who feel that they must take part in this antisocial behaviour are reminded that there are "places", such as 70's bars, where these outdated items can still be used in safety.
