NMEA200 Engine Data

Hi,

As I've just, sadly, binned my round UK trip (see alternative thread Heading North) I have a bit of time available.
I'm looking trying to take NMEA 2000 data from my engine, Yanmar 3YM20, to my chart plotter (Raymarine Elements Family).

All seems OK apart form getting engine RPM.

Has anyone else done this and how?

You might find something suitable at Yacht Devices. I have just added a barometer and thermometer to my instrumentation as is was cheaper than the posh brass ones you see.

I second the YD Engine Gateway. I used one on a Volvo D1-30. I think that you need an adaptor for Yanmar but they can supply this.

how are you getting the rest of the info through? not familiar with this engine at all
I mean if you use a black box that does analogue to digital conversion of signals, it will have a RPM input that goes to the alternator.
