NMEA to Autohelm?

Wiring up my new ST2000 for power and to my plotter (Navman 5607)
The ST diagram shows NMEA connections as; Green NMEA- and White NMEA+, the Navman has White NMEA Out and Black NMEA Ground, both of which are presently connected to my vhf radio.
Would I be correct in assuming that the Navman White NMEA Out be connected to the White NMEA+ ON THE ST, and likewise with the respective Green on ST to Black on Navman?
Will this arrangement effect the NMEA Out to the VHF?
The manuals dont make it very clear.
Appreciate any advice.

Eamonn. I would say that sounds right . as long as the ground is common through out. You should be able to run 2 or 3 devices from the output of your plotter with no problem. It you go beyond that you may need a multiplexer/booster. I run my dsc vhf and my laptop with the nmea output from my gps with no problems.
The st2000 is a great bit of kit and will suit your boat perfectly.

Just that connection to do and the ST should be all ready to strut its stuff, wish I could say that for the boat though.
Still quite a bit to do and not a moment to spare (apart from all day today) on her, busy with work and in court all last week
Still got all antifoul and boot top finn today along the rest of the wiring for the ST 2000.

No Ian, loads to do yet.
Will be struggling to have her in for SB wk end
Think I will have to take a few days after present bathroom job.
