Trying to find a modest size plug and socket with screw fixings for the cores to lead NMEA 0183 wire with four cores through a wooden bulkhead at the chart table.

It's so I can easily demount a Yeoman plotter by pulling out the plug - can find an Autopilot size and type but it's too big and really meant for out doors.

Yeoman are no longer made and the supplier have nothing that will help they directed me to the chandleries.

Tried usual sources, chandlers etc no success - - - anyone know a specialist supplier who may stock something close ?

An audio-type DIN plug and socket would be small and neat, but would have solder connections. Cheap as chips from Maplin, etc. Maybe use a right angle plug too...

Just go to your nearest Maplins and wander about until you see what you want. If that doesn't work, ask the nerdiest looking person with a light blue polo shirt and they will dig something out of one of their mystery shelves. Works for me! Usually costs a tenth of what I think it will.

extremely easy to do with DIN panel mount socket and plug from Maplin. Bit of soldering involved but if you buy a supply of the plugs all at once you can swap various devices. Heres a pic of exactly this at my chart table- the DIN plug and socket are going into the electrics locker lower right. The idea was to be able to swap between the laptop and a yeoman but I havent bought the yeoman yet!
