NMEA question Lowrance HDS 5 GEN 2

I have the above plotter and the manual I have which does not indicate whether it is for a GEN 1 or a GEN 2 indicates it has NMEA 2000 however a friend assures me it has NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183. He says the Lowrance HDS 5 GEN 1 only has NMEA 2000 but the GEN 2 has both. Can anyone give me a definitive answer.

The menu Settings/Network shows Data sources - both NMEA's should be there if available (as per the manual pg. 102)

I recall that both gen 1 and gen2 both have nmea 2k and 0183, I’ve gen 3 and it has both, I had gen 1 and the 2 k was a separate port and the nmea0183 was on the power/ data lead
