Would you help me with advice.I would like to connect NMEA OUT from my Plotter to VHF SAILOR to obtain position on VHF.On plotter (Raymarine 620) I have following sheme on Power cabel. 8 wires as follows:
1. Battery negative Black
2.Battery positive Red
3.NMEA data input (+ve) White
4.NMEA Input(-ve)- common Green
5.Printer ready Grey
6.NMEA data out OR printer out Yellow
7.Data output common Brown
8. Not connected Screen

As I think I must connect NMEA data out and ......? what is another wire as on VHF I have 2 wire connection.

Connect 6 to + or red and 4 to - or black.

This is my opinion and the usual disclaimers apply - best to check the manuals /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Usually, wrong connections on NMEA do no harm.

Just a small point that has cropped up..........the unit will almost certainly need to have an MMSI number programmed in before it will show the position, even if the connections are correct.
This has caused people to believe that they aren't connected properly on new installations........... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
