at the mom the 152 is linked into the rd68 for the dsc function....i would like to wire in the gps also to the st4000 to view in the cockpit.....

how do u do it ?

the st4000 has nmea conections and seatalk so do i use the nmea down to the rd68 and just put some piggy back conectors on the block or can u buy a nmea splitter to put at the back of the gps??

Should be able to drive both from the GPS without a splitter, just parallel the output from the GPS to the st4000 nmea in.

are you sure?

does the the st4000 not require seatalk? in which case would a seatalk to nmea converter be needed?

I believe that all Raymarine APs take NMEA data without the convertor since they can be used with non-Seatalk GPS.

agreed, i feed nmea into my seatalk net via an st6000 control head. it converts the signal so i get SOG, XTE etc on other instruments on the net.

unfortunately it misinterprets the messages but that's another story
