Hi folks,

Starting a digital yacht nav system from scratch and I’ve questions about setup.

here’s the plan.

NMEA back bone with the following connected:

1. GPS antenna
2. VHF with ais
3. Depth/speed/temp transducer
4. NavLink2 WiFi

what I’m wondering is will the navionics app be able to receive and display the data from all these pieces of hardware? Or do they need another piece of kit first like a chart plotter? They will all be nmea2000 connections. I am trying to stay away from additional screens like chartplotters etc so it’s all through one app

thanks

Usually, the iPad receives this NMEA info via WiFi.
Not sure about VHS though, I think Netflix is the current preferred medium for films.

Many thanks for reply.

That good to hear and what I thought I just didn’t want to find I needed some form of data decoder somewhere in the backbone.

Also great about cheaper versions, any suggestions? I’m looking for something reliable that can create a boat wide wifi network accessible by 5+ devices running navionics

cheers
